Long time no see.....or 2 of a kind :-)

Hey every one

Hope you have been enjoying your summer... I know I know, it has been ages since you have heard from me. But hey! Here I am.

We went to my lovely good old Denmark and came back last week. It was just lovely!

So, time to show you my latest design, which I did over the weekend. Actually I made 2 of the same kind, but chose different colours.

Introducing my glimmermisted DragonFly Card.
Basically what to do is as follows; Get some nice backing paper out in the main colour you chose. Place a mask (I used the one from The Tattered Angel) on your pretty paper/car, mist away with 1 or 2 matching glimmer mist colours. For the purple one i used Dark purple and blue.

Let the mist dry up a bit before removing. Dry completely. Stamp with a matching Stamp. I had the coordinating Dragon Fly stamp, which I used with a Char Coal / blueish kind of ink.

Stick the stamped and glimmer misted paper on to a folded card.

I made a little round tag in more or less the same way, and used a small stamp with another pretty Dragon Fly and stuck it next to the stamped "Happy Birthday".
I finished of my Card by adding a pretty fabric flower which I sprayed with the Purple Mist. And finally used a bit of glitter in a matching purple colour and a couple of small pink "Diamonds" here and there.... Easy peasy ;-)

Well as a treat will I show you the green and yellow version of the card as well.

Have a lovely Monday

Cup Cake Garden

Happy Sunday Morning all crafters

Back on the Blog again. My Crafty room is now finished, and it is just loooovely. Happy Mojito Green - yuhu!

Just to see the room finished and sorted have given me so many new ideas and great inspiration.

So wanna share 2 new card designs I have made over the last couple of days.

The first one is called Cup Cake Garden. My Danish Aunti got birthday soon, and I asked her, how she wanted her card this year! "Just Pink" she said...... Easy peasy! Great challenge!
Found some lovely pattern and colour coordinated paper I have had for some time. Stamped 2 big cup cakes (one for each side of the bead string). Have a look, the principle for my design is a square with a round window through which you can see the inside of the card.

I use an old compas with the knife end to cut the circles as I dont have those smart cutting dies or similar. The old stuff still works :-)
Quick step overview;

Step 1; stick some nice paper or card to the front of your card with double sided tape,

2; cut the circle out from the back of the front,

3; cut a decorative circle in a matching colour card and stick to the front.

4; Stamp your hanging motive twice, just remember not all stamps are suitable for this kind of design, as you will have to stick one of the motifs at the back of the first one with a tread or metal string between.

5; I use metal wire to make the hanging cup cake; open the card under the round window and above it, place some double sided tape. This will help you place your string with the cup cake. So I need. I took a string that was too long(easier to cut after wards). From the bottom window edge i added on some beads, my double cupcake, more beads to fit the length of the opening. Let the extra wire stick to the tape, dont worry if it is too long.

6; I had prepared a paper for the back of the front, meaning having cut the hole in advance and stuck tape on. Just ready to cover the back of the front, so you cant see the wire and the sticky tape.

7; finally, stick some pretty card, if you want, to the actual inside of the card. You can see i chose some pretty butterfly garden design, you could leave it blank if you want to. Also, i cut some pretty cup cakes out of some heavy card with sugar coating to finalise the front of the gard.

That's it.... Hope you like my new design. As an extra treat will I show you a variation of the card with cute dog for my mom... vov vov....

Backing Paper

Morning here at my Crafty Blog
We had an amazing and very fun weekend in sunny Seaton at the yearly cricket tournament.
All the ladies went on a fantastic tractor ride Saturday dressed as Cow girls - yeaaahhaa! :-)

So back again on the blog - a bit tired but with a good mood!

Like a lot of other creative spirits have i given my photo editing programme a go.

Bringing here one of my designs for backing papers.
You can surf around the net for different "Brushes" and "Textures" to add to your program. I have used different types of brushes and using only one colour but in different hues have i obtained my pattern.

Try it out, it is just great fun. You can try my paper out if you want, but please be good and refer to my blog spot http://dollydesign4u.blogspot.com/ or even better let me know what you think about my design, That will just be great. Thanks :-)

The Room Tidy project is continueing today. Will start painting later this afternoon, so I hopefully can move back in to my New room during this week. Just can't wait.

Necessary Craft Room Tidy Up

Heya all
No crafting on the wall today. I have started a much needed craft room tidy up. Isn't just amazing the amount stuff and Rubbish you can collect? Well, something must happen, because I simply can't find myself or anything else for that sake in my beloved craft room :-)

Status; all is more or less moved out - some already straight in to the big bin.

Will return here shortly when mission tidy is complete. By the way - the one wall will also have to be painted. I am planning on happy apple green. We'll see

Take care

Yet another crafty day

Happy Tuesday all lovely crafters

Well well, just a little update from your happy Danish crafter. Yesterday was just a brilliant day. I went to see my mom in law, who is always in a happy mode. After some shopping and a lovely lunch did we put all our crafty stuff out all over the dining table.

We set our selves a challenge to work with enamel and embossing. Gosh! You should have seen :-) What a mess! We managed to "ruin" all our projects and get black ink and embossing powder all most every where, but had such a giggle. I think if Laurel n Hardy did crafting, well it would probably have looked like what we were up to. Ha!

Eventually we managed to make some pretty pendants.

Using some small pieces of chipboard, stamping away with different types of ink. Wacking some enamel powder over and heating it up. More ink, more powder.

I tried to use different powders together. Finally I came to this, what I thought at least, got a really good effect.

Half side with one mix of powder (gold metalic stuff) and one side with deep green fine detailed embossing powder.

I used one of Tim Holz stamps on top and finalised with another layer of enamel powder.

A trick here; try to make sure you time your stamping with the right temperature of your embossed work... if it is too hot, you destroy the surface...

I finalised the pendant with some black organza ribbon and some colour matching glass beads.

Tell me what you think? Do you have similar kind of experiments?

Finally - yet another pencil holder with birds, bees and crowns.... we need to eat more tinned toms in my house, so i can make some more pencil holders LOL :-)

See you soon

Sunday Rock 'n Roll....

Well, after having finished my beetroot competition with my husband (who could make the best with a bunch of organic beet roots ? ..grr he won), well I decided to try out some new stuff I had from Debbie More's fine collections.

I have just had an exciting time experimenting with the Magical enamel power. Jubi ( fab in Danish ) It is just gr8! After playing with some of my stamps and the powder I ended up making a pretty mug coaster.

I took some white chip board (ca. 10 x 10 cm) rubbed pale green and pink ink all over the board. Blended it with a "baby wiper", Inked up one of DM's pretty ornamental stamps in black Staz on. Covered the entire tile in Magic enamel powder, heated it up and repeat... tada! How good is that? I think it turn out to be pretty pretty. I stuck some felt on the back to make it more house safe :-)

Also, I made a funky Rock n Roll coaster for my hubby's new office in exactly same style but different colour scheme and stamps. What do you think?

Finally - how to turn an old tomato tin into a funky Rock n' Roll Pencil holder; well use a clean tomato tin LOL. Cut a strip of whatever card you wish, that will fit the can width and cut it long enough to go all the way around the "tummy" of the tin.

I stamped all over the card piece in black ink, used sparkly fine embossing powder, and finally smudged the edges with some soft black ink.... I love the messy look :-)

I stuck the finished card onto the tin with double sided tape and finalised it by wrapping some black metal wire around the top 4-5 times. I made a little set of shrink plast charms with the same stamps and added them to some chain...... et voila!!!

Happy crafting

Stamp effect - happy boys on bikes

I wanna show you the beauty of this amazing stamp i bought a while ago - I believe it was made by "elusive images "(dont kill me if i got it wrong)..... however I have used the stamp several times - and in this instance have i use it twice on the same card.
I stamped the main picture in a lovely "thick" dark choc brown ink and then embossed it with black fine detailed ink.
when cool and dry i used my different coloured ink pads over the the embossed / heated image to give it the different colour shades.
And then - tada! i stamped the same image on to shrink plast in perm black stazon black ink. Before shrinking, i used different colour pads to keep an intense colour.
Heyho.... two of the same -but very different !
